Hezbollah’s operations room issued a statement about the Israeli army’s presence in the historic Beaufort Castle, which said: “With the great negative impact that the video materials broadcast by the Islamic Resistance of its operations against the Israeli enemy army forces had on the consciousness of the settlers within the occupation entity, the enemy army strived hard to obtain an image that it promoted as an overwhelming victory, with the hope that the settlers would be horrified by it.” North, so the target was the historic Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon, which is only about 4 km from the Lebanese-Palestinian border.” The statement added, "Over the course of more than 5 days, the Israeli army launched a series of violent air attacks and heavy artillery shelling on the town of Yammar al-Shaqif and the surrounding villages with the aim of controlling it and occupying the Beaufort Castle. As soon as it advanced towards the outskirts of the southern town, it faced heroic and fierce resistance and intense fire from the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance that prevented it from achieving its goal. So it contented itself with taking refuge in the outskirts of the eastern town with rugged terrain." He revealed that "at sunset on Saturday, 05/30/2026, an Israeli infantry group infiltrated under heavy smoke cover from the eastern side of Beaufort Castle, where the paths are not visible. They arrived at the castle and took a group of photographs, which the Israeli army quickly distributed on Sunday morning and promoted that it had occupied the castle," stressing that the castle was devoid of any resistance military presence. He stressed that "the enemy is finding, from dawn yesterday until the time of issuing this statement, great difficulty in establishing its forces in the vicinity of the castle, as these forces are located near the rest area under the castle," pointing out that "the Islamic resistance is waging a battle of attrition against the forces of the Israeli enemy army present in the region, and the upcoming video scenes will prove this."
